Water Cooler Filter Replacement

Supplies:

  • Bucket
  • Towel or Paper towels
  • Spare piece of tubing with no-tool elbow fitting (included with your filter order)
  • Flat screwdriver to remove fittings (not needed if you have no-tool fittings)
  • Marker to date the new filters

Replacing the Water Filters:

• Video above includes step-by-step instruction so you can follow along.

• You only need to disconnect the elbow fittings from the filters, not the elbow fittings from the tubing.

• Remove the top elbow fitting of the filter first. Replace it with a filter cap (one of the little sanitary caps from the ports/stems of the new filters). This will keep the remaining water in the filter from coming out.

• The filters have arrows designating the direction of water flow. The arrows printed on the filter labels are pointing toward the outlet of the filter.

• Install your new filters with the arrows pointing in the same direction that the arrows on the old labels were pointing.

• The arrows on the new filters may all be pointing in one direction or they could be alternating directions - The important thing is that the arrow of each filter in the same direction as the one you removed.

Flushing the Filters:

  1. Remove the fitting on the outlet end (the end that the arrow on the filter is pointing to) of the Pre Carbon filter.
  1. Attach the spare piece of tubing w/fitting that came with your new set of filters to the outlet of the Pre Carbon filter.
  1. Turn the water On and allow the water to flow into a bucket. Flush about a gallon of water. The water may come out black at first, this is normal - it is just loose carbon particles.
  1. Turn the water Off.
  1. Remove the spare tubing with fitting from the Pre Carbon filter and return the original fitting back to the Pre Carbon filter.
  1. Now flush all filters together by attaching the spare tubing to the outlet end of the last filter (this will be the fitting attached to the line going upward into the cooler tank). Turn the water on and flush another gallon of water.
  1. Turn water off and re-attach the original fitting.
  1. Make sure all fittings are securely connected and turn the water back on.
