10 micron polypropylene sediment filter works like a strainer, capturing suspended particles such as sand, silt, rust, dirt, pipe residue and other unwanted debris. The Sediment filter’s primary functions are to clarify the water and extend the life of the carbon filters and membranes downstream.

Granular Activated Carbon filter uses a process called adsorption. Contaminants are attracted and adhere to the carbon material like velcro. This filter removes an abundance of impurities from the water, including chlorine, VOCs, THMs, and bad taste and odor. The Pre Carbon filter also protects and extends the life of the Ultrafilter Membrane.

The Ultrafilter is a semi-permeable membrane that works by physically trapping suspended particles as small as 0.01 micron. Some of these particles include microplastics, bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi and Protozoa to name a few.
