Guide: How to change the filters in your undersink system

Changing & Flushing your new Ultrafiltration filter set (Undersink System)

Changing the filters:

A few tips before you get started:

*Before you begin, turn the water OFF where water enters the UF system and turn on your filtered water faucet at the sink. Turning the faucet on will release the pressure so you can remove the fittings easily.

*You can leave the water on at the sink faucet throughout the whole filter changing/flushing process. You will only be turning the water on and off where the water enters the filtration system.

*When changing the filters, only disconnect the fittings from the filter ports, don’t remove the the tubing from the fittings.

*When removing the old filters, remove the top fitting of the filter first and put your finger on the filter hole to keep water from coming out.

*The filters have an arrow designating the direction of water flow. If you have the color coded blue and orange no-tool elbow fittings, the orange ones go on the inlet and the blue fittings on the outlet.

*The filter arrows will alternate pointing up and down when installed correctly.

Flushing the Filters:

Once you have gotten all of the new filters in place, you are ready to flush…

  1. Make sure the water is still OFF where water enters the system and leave the faucet on at the sink.
  2. Remove the fitting from the outlet of the Pre Carbon filter and attach the spare tubing that came with your set.
  3. Turn the water on and flush about a gallon of water into your bucket. The water may come out black at first, this is completely normal. Turn the water off when you are done.
  4. Remove the spare tubing from the Pre Carbon filter and reattach the original fitting.
  5. Make sure all fittings are securely connected and turn water back on. Allow about a gallon of water to run through the filter faucet at the sink and then you are finished.
